Pop-up
The proposed pop-up in front of Leeds Art Gallery is inviting people to leave the formal pathways and try out a collection of sound-making and sound-related experiences. It aims to encourage people to engage with others and setting up opportunities for two-sided play and collaboration. The paper tubes are suitable for all ages.
Playing activities
The pop-up offers different activities from playing the tubes as drums, to experiments with echoes. As people engage with these activities, sending new sounds out across the space, they’re also changing the tone in the plaza, adding a more positive vibe.
Performance stage
The pop-up also consists of a performance stage, where local bands or street musicians can do live performances. Leeds Art Gallery`s stairs will be used as a seating area for the audience.
Materials
The main material of the temporary installation will be cardboard tubes. Due to the fact that it will be only for 2 weeks as part of summer festival in front of the gallery, it was really important to choose a material that is low cost, easy to assemble and can be recycle after the festival.

The structure of the pop-up is low-cost and easy to assemble by the local people. The main material is cardboard tubes. It is chosen because of its availability and ease of production, cost, durability, construction time and aesthetics.
Internal Visual
The proposed Music Pavilion will serve as space for music lessons, performances and also a space where you can meet other people interested in music.
External Visual
The outdoor terrace can be used as performance stage for bigger events such as music festivals. All the activities will be closely managed by the community centre.
