Following the conversation I had with Andrea Edwards during the workshop on 20th February 2020, I visited the Youth Café club which take place every Saturday at the community centre. There I had the chance to see what the club is doing during their sessions and most importantly to meet with young people from the area.

The opportunity to talk with local children gave me a clear understanding of their needs and interests. The children that agreed to talk with me and took part in the tasks I have prepared were between 10-18 years old.

We also discussed my proposal and ideas about New Wortley. I also asked them few questions that are related to my concept and the answers will influence it. Below you can see an overview of them.

Key point identified during this visit:
- There are no facilities for young people in the area.
- They don`t find the area safe.
- Children don`t visit any classes (boxing, football, etc.) because their families can`t afford the fee.
- All of the children can play musical instruments and are interested in learning new instruments.
